Hi

40 something guy, who is a bit of a lapsed walker. Put on a few lbs than is probably good for me and become unfit in the bargain. Not all self inflicted had a nasty back injury in 2005.

In my time, I was quite experienced Hillwalker. Done most of the hills\walks in the Peak District, Yorkshire Moors etc.

I would like to do the Yorkshire 3 peaks early next year. So who would like to keep me company or even do the Y3P next year?

Long, Short, High or Low Walks all good to me and a beer at the end.

Dave

Hi Dave

Your story (apart from the back injury) sounds a lot like my own. So I'm sure you know that self-motivation is one of the most important things you need to make a life-change like this.

Don't let the lack of a walking partner put you off getting back into the hills and getting fit again.

Let us know how the fitness progresses!

Cheers
LW

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I certainly wont be put off and currently making plans for my first walk in Sept\Oct. Looking forward to some good autumnal and winter walk.

I am based in Manchester and do most of my walking in the Peak District, in and around the South Pennines\Yorkshire Dales and Lake District.

I can be contacted at mzerogsm@googlemail.com if anybody wishes to contact me direct.

Dave

Hi Dave. If we ever make it up your way I will make sure and e-mail you. Would love to have an experienced walker show us a few good hills. Let us know how your return to walking is going by posting about them here!
