Hi Folks, With my 2nd C2C happening in a 3 weeks time & already completed the WHW I'm looking to take on another walk for next year. The conversations over a pint or 3 with the other Oakley Plodders AKA Old Gits has been mainly about Offa's Dyke.

I've notice that there's not many posts on this particular Plod so I'm asking the question why?

LW - Did you ever sort out any type of baggage transfer??
Also I noticed you have the routs on Memory map format - any chance you could ping it my way rather than me sitting here and trying to plot it myself??

If anyone else has got any useful info I'd love to hear from you, i.e. B&B's etc etc

Thanks guys :-)

OP on the ODP :)

I never sorted baggage transfer, but it was 3 years ago this summer I walked the lower section and then abandoned it, so maybe someone has started a route? The alternative was taxis and B&B owners, but on average they were charging between £20-£30 per leg for the bag move - more than the accommodation!

I'll happily send the Memory Map routes and I also have them in GPX format now for any SatNav. Which direction are you going in? I have both, so just to know which one to send.

I'm determined to go back and finish the ODP - probably no earlier than 2012 though - Tex and I have something in the calendar for 2011 - but that's still bubbling away in our planning cauldron at the moment.

If I do it again, it'll probably be North to South so I have the Clwydians to start with.

All, Thanks for your inputs here & after a careful review with my walking buddy we decided that like you LW we'd leave this for another day and try our hand (or should that be feet) along the Pennine Way instead.

So we're now looking at all the feedback & suggestions on the forum.

Good luck with your walk LW & thanks Pete for your offer of info

Your original post reminded me that I had an my father's account of Offas Dyke when he walked it in 1983. I have now uploaded it to:
http://www.daly.co.uk/offasdyke/index.html
although it has now lost it relevance to you OP! You may be more interested in my account of the Pennine Way at:

Thanks John for both sets of info - I'm sure over the next couple of months I'll be doing a great deal of research, I need to focus on this years C2C 1st :-)

Hi John,

Thanks for uploading those walking accounts. I was looking to read about ODP and it's really great to read something written by your father back in 1983! Makes for really interesting reading, thanks for sharing :)
