Just read your C2C account Pete and enjoyed it immensely- I like your reflective style touched with the odd conversation highlighting the differences in dialect etc.

I can't wait to get on the C2C again now in May. I'm not sure yet what style to write this years account but with two other colleagues, one of whom has a natural comic genius when writing, it may be we knock an account together combining our 3 perspectives.

Thanks, Journeyman

I enjoyed your journal too, and I look forward to reading the next one.

At first I didn't feel motivated to write up the Coast to Coast, and I only started when someone suggested I should. Once I'd begun, I felt I had to finish it, a bit like the Path itself.

I find a tremendous amount of fun meeting up with other LDP walkers, though occasionally there's someone who's forgotten to add a sense of humour to their daysack. I guess they're entitled to their choice. I'll check back on your schedule later, and if I'm in the Lakes or Dales at the time I'll give you a shout and a wave as you march along. It sounds as if your team won't be short of a laugh. Enjoy it again!

Thanks for the journal Stottie. It was a very enjoyable read. As this is our first time doing the C2C we will most likely stick to the books description of the route but reading about the various alternatives is great. Happy walking.

I have been inspired. The poem was amazing, and so I have attempted to do one myself...please don't be offended if you read it, it is no-where near your standard. I now realise just how difficult and time-consuming it is to write somehting like that! Here's my meagre offering: http://alongwalk.wordpress.com/2008/03/21/a-wet-walk/

Thanks for the inspiration!

Mich, I have read your poem and left a comment on your website. The character of your wet day out comes through loud and clear. I could feel the wet clothing: the power of poetry is astonishing. Keep writing, keep reading, keep trekking, and let us all know how you get on with C2C.
Stottie :)
