This starts on Friday. I'll be setting off Wednesday morning to Shiel Bridge, walking over to Glenelg Thursday and starting the walk on Friday.
This willl be an attempt (note that word carefully!) at a ninth crossing from the West coast of Scotland to the East.
My route this year is planned to go from Glenelg to Tomdoun (3 days) then to Ft Augustus; over the Monadhliath Mountains to Newtonmore, then to Glen Feshie, across the Cairngorms to Braemar, then Lochnagar, followed by Glen Esk, Fettercairn and, finally, Johnshaven.
The plan is to wild camp all the way except in Newtonmore where there's a campsite, Achallater Lodge bothy and Fettercairn.
The whole thing should take 13 days, which gioves me one spare day for contingencies.
Thats the plan anyway. I don't usually follow my plans, though!

Good man!
I admire your ambition and envy your energy!
May the midges remain dormant and the raindrops stay high in the few fluffy clouds.
Let any flying pigs be devoid of swine flu.
