Although the idea of actually seeing other WP folks may fill you with merino underpant shuddering dread, some of us are social types who would quite like to put a face to a name (which would only be a disappointment in my case, but then I don't have to look at me, do I).

So how about an online calendar, where everyone quite simply adds their intended trips, and if a couple happen to intersect the possibility of some light refreshment and lighter conversation is possible. It would have to be something graphical really as a simple posting area would get a bit confusing, so not sure how hard that would be, but LW is the technical one.

I think that is a great idea. As we walked the C2C last year I did wonder how many other people had signed on to this forum. We are thinking of doing the West Highland Way, possibly next year so it would be nice to meet up with others

It took me a while and I'm not completely happy with the choice, but here goes...

http://freecal.brownbearsw.com/WalkingPlaces

I don't like to rely on third parties for the delivery of services, but in this case I had little choice - it's just not something I can easily deliver myself. Also, without knowing how much use it's going to get I didn't want to spend an awful lot of time on it.

But we now have a shared Walking Places calendar.

Clicking the link above will display the calendar and if you want to add an item, you need to click the button on the gray strip along the bottom, marked Add/Edit and enter a password into the field provided. The password is "walking", all lower case, no quotes.

You can then add an item into any date by clicking on the small plus sign beside the date in question. Fill in the spaces in the resulting page to create your entry and then click "create event" to save your entry. You can click "view calendar" in the top left hand corner to return to the calendar.

Any questions on use, drop me a line, or post a question in this topic.

Thanks man - that solves my caravan booking system problem. Now what was the reason I suggested it again?

I've posted my West Highland Way and Ben Nevis dates on the calender but clearly I've clicked too many things - beginners error!

Wow, it does look like you have a busy week planned :)
Do you want me to trim back some of the entries?
Just let me know which ones you want to keep and I'll prune the rest.

Sorry about the clutter LW. If you can trim I would be grateful - I must try harder next time. I have a few one day entries to put in over the next few weeks. Basically we travel to Scotland on 12th may, start walking the WHW on 13 to 19 inclusive, walk Ben Nevis on 20th and travel back on 21st.
