I walked the Dales Way last month. I've written a blog of the trip at http://watsonwalks.blogspot.co.uk/

Enjoyed your writeup on the Dales Way, will have to read your earlier walk also.
I can sympathize with you about the weather since I was walking at a similar time.

Thanks for writing your blog, I enjoyed it. As you'll know from another posting I'm walking the Dales Way next year, June, and with a couple of B&B's closing in Ilkley, good B&B/pub accommodation near the start of the walk is scarce. I've decided to use your idea of spending the night in Addingham, going back to Ilkley, then walking back to Addingham. It takes about three miles off the first day's walk and makes the thirteen miles to Grassington more of a stroll. Thanks, a good idea.
In September last year I walked the leg from Low Raisgill to Dent on the day the remnants of Hurricane Katya blew through the north of England, and at times was almost unable to walk forward into the eighty mile/hour winds. On top of that, there was a bit of rain, so all in all, a nasty day. I'm hoping for better weather next June so that I can enjoy the Craven Way, Ribblehead viaduct and the walk around the side of Whernside.
