Walking Places is your place on the web to store and publish your walking journals, diaries and guides. Whether you keep a record of the walks you do with the dog or write a daily diary of your long distance walks, we want you to tell the world about it, through the medium of Walking Places.

We can provide you with a complete hosting service, with your own sub-domain* (for example www.yourname.walkingplaces.co.uk), or simply publish your account on our journals page. You don’t need to know any HTML or have any technical knowledge of creating web sites, we will do all the hard work for you and best of all its COMPLETELY FREE!

The site has been developed to allow walkers to publish their daily diary or journal, even if they have no experience of web publishing.

News:

MICRO SITES: The main portal page for accessing all the hosted members’ websites. You can design and manage your own micro site if you wish, or allow us to select a template for you and publish your words. If you would like to have a journal or indeed a website hosted on Walking Places, please contact us using the e-mail link on the right.

COAST TO COAST: A landing page for all the Coast to Coast related information on Walking Places. This includes information on the route, guidebooks, the Ordnance Survey strip maps and other information that may be useful to anyone planning on doing the walk.

DOWNLOADS: A collection of downloads that compliment the other resources on Walking Places. On this page you will also find a number of walks (in Memory Map format) for some of the more popular walking destinations in the UK.
